In the Pachyforms: A Guide to Growing Pachycaul and Caudiciform Plants by Philippe de Vosjoli, he describes this as "one of the very best of all caudiciforms." It's not difficult to grow and, depending on how it's grown, can take a variety of shapes and forms.

Jovibarba heuffelii 'Gold Bug'
Jovibarba heuffelii are wonderful hardy plants, related to Sempervivums, are often beautifully colored. Unlike semps, they need to be cut apart to propagate. "Gold Bug' has outstanding colors in the Spring, turning more green during the Summer.
